| S.O.S. (Summer of Service) | |
| Location: | Community Project |
| Time: | All Day Event |
| Description: | As you may remember last year the Bishop had asked each church to be part of a “Cluster” of churches making a difference together in a way we cannot do by ourselves, sharing God’s love and grace in tangible ways. Our weekly food pantry initiative is ONE of the incredible ministry outreaches we have undertaken. Additionally we will work with the City of Mishawaka and Builders of Hope to serve an area resident with a low cost weatherization project.
This year’s SOS weekend will be May 17 and 18. Within the next few weeks we will be given a homeowner in our community and the project we will tackle. There are over 40 churches making a collaborative effort to serve residents in our area. The desire behind SOS is to build relationships with people, through practical home repair, introducing them to the dignity and hope found in Jesus. There are several ways for you to make a difference: · Sign up to help bring a meal for the volunteers · Sign up to help bring water, coffee or soda · Volunteer to work a 4 hour shift on Friday, Saturday or BOTH! · Pray for the team and the homeowner · Give financially to help with costs not covered by the city Watch the weekly E-News & the back of the attendance cards for more info. Call Pastor Carolyn (255-4707) for more information or to say “SIGN ME UP”! |
